About Me

I graduated from Baylor University in 2021 with a BA in Professional Writing and Rhetoric and minors in Corporate Communications and Creative Writing. At Baylor, I was the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the university's literary magazine, and I took YA-specific creative writing classes that shaped me into a strong storyteller. I was part of the opening team of an indie bookstore called Fabled Bookshop and Cafe, where I started as a bookseller, moved up to Team Lead, and eventually, became their first Communications Coordinator. My greatest contribution to the Fabled team was my creation of their first-ever YA book club, The Order of the Owl, where readers of any age come together weekly to discuss YA books. I orchestrated this book club based on my belief that coming-of-age tales can reach all sorts of readers, and I was responsible for generating questions, leading each meeting, promoting the book club, choosing the books, and, most importantly, reaching out to authors to Zoom with the group. This book club still thrives today!

After graduating, I dedicated my time to honing my craft through professional training with book coach, Katherine Longshore. Currently, I am based in Boulder, Colorado, where I remotely work in Marketing for SEBPO while also volunteering for the Gaithersburg Book Festival. I fully manage and cultivate their Instagram presence to promote the annual festival, fundraising efforts, author support, and ancillary events throughout the year. During the festival, I participate as a YA panel introducer, as well. Working with, participating in, and attending the festival has been a huge opportunity for me to create connections with other authors and industry people. Lastly, I am an SCBWI member.
