WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

I am currently querying a dark, LGBTQ+ YA fantasy story. Its comp titles are SWEET & BITTER MAGIC meets SHADOW AND BONE with a gender-bent BEAUTY AND THE BEAST flare. It is full of morally grey characters, dual identities, enemies to lovers romances, and complex magic systems.

TRADITIONAL OR SELF PUBLISH?

I plan on traditionally publishing this story, as that is my personal preference.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR MENTORSHIP?

I was originally going to go to grad school for an MFA in YA, but due to financial reasons and, after consulting with some other writers who had done MFAs, I concluded that I didn’t really want to go back to school. Through an author friend of mine, I was pointed in the direction of Katherine Longshore, who was just starting her mentorship business. Katy has been an amazing coach, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. She is incredibly involved, giving such constructive comments and always urging me to come up with the answer on my own through her suggestions and questions. This has truly been such an unparalleled learning experience for me, and I highly recommend looking her up if you are interested in a writing coach.
