I had the pleasure of meeting @amandamccrina at the @gburgbookfest (see, told you I wasn’t done posting about the festival) & I decided to pick up her book, The Silent Unseen, because i needed something different than my usual fantasy choices.
Friends, this book was so, so good. I finished it in a matter of hours. if you liked Rebel Spy (which I’ve talked about a lot on here), then READ THIS!! filled with love, loss, unyielding heart and resilience, and familial bonds, The Silent Unseen will take you on a war-torn journey where morality, friendships, and family will be tested.
One of my favorite things about this read was the moments of innocence and light that were woven into such an otherwise dark and emotional tale. There’s a moment, in particular, towards the end between the two MCs, Kostya and Maria, that had me beaming and tearing up - just because it was such a moment of teenage innocence amidst the darkness these two have suffered for the majority of their lives.
Anyways, please read this - and chat with me about it, if you do.
